Villa Mocale, Chianti Wedding | Mairi Clare + Brian

Destination wedding in Chianti

Mairi Clare and Brian are a young Scottish couple in love with Italy and Tuscany.

They were initially interested in helding their blissful wedding in an hotel reception ballroom in Florence, but despite the city being one of the most romantic of the world, when they have seen Villa Mocale, set just few miles from Florence and surrounded by lovely hills completely covered with vineyards, they just fell in love deeply with it and changed their project.

The ceremony was held anyway inside Florence to fulfill their first desire to live a Florentine experience and they couldn’t have found a more beautiful and charming church: Santi Apostoli is called in fact the “Second Duomo” for its beauty and decors.

After an emotional ceremony, guests have been escorted by a bagpiper musician -  he was perfect to recreate a real Scottish mood - to their transfer pick up point to reach the Villa where they enjoyed a welcome cocktail under a centenary tree where Prosecco was served with strawberries.

The spouses delayed their arrival to enjoy some photos firstly on Ponte Vecchio on the Arno river, then among the stunning countryside and vineyards of the reception property, immersing themselves in a pure “Chianti state of mind”

Their wedding reception was impressive, with a great aperitif and antipasti served on rich buffet tables in the enchanting garden of Mocale and the dinner set up in the glorious court where a U shape imperial table had been prepared with a fine and luxury mise en place, elegant candelabras and gorgeous white, purple and lilac flowers
Guest and spouses had been welcomed at the dinner area by the bagpiper to find their place at the table with a little surprise for all: a real Italian Limoncello wee bottle
The weather smiled at us during the entire day being anyway quite cloudy, but treating us with a ah-mazing sunny sunset just in front of the magnificent dinner table

A delicious dinner and typical millefoglie created directly in front of guests, enriched the night, till the open bar and dancings has been opened for the rest of the party.

The party ended in the most emotional way following the purest Scottish tradition, with the final dance on the notes of Runrig - Loch Lomond

Thank you Mairi and Brian, thank you for the emotions you allowed us to experience through your wedding story and for have giving us the pleasure to be immersed in your wonderful Scottish love
